Chua pushing to his limit in his election campaign

People in Segamat give Chua a warm welcome.

SEGAMAT (April 13, 2013): Despite having to leave here for Johor Baru to launch the Johor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) manifesto today, PKR chairman Chua Jui Meng still had the energy to go on a walkabout at the pasar malam (night market) outside the Segamat wet market.
“I am pushing myself to the limit in my election campaign because I cannot afford to take the support of the people here for granted.
“Despite tremendous positive body language from the people of Segamat in my day-to-night walkabouts to extend handshakes to the people and to distribute flyers containing information on the country’s current ills, no thanks to the Barisan Nasional (BN), the winds of change appear to be much bigger than 2008.

Chua stressing a point to these two Indian women on why BN must be sent to the Opposition bench in Parliament and state.

“All Johor PKR candidates for parliamentary and state seats cannot afford to rest on their laurels.
“Yes, people appear to want change and are willing to give PR a chance to govern after the 13th General Election on May 5. But it is politically suicidal to underestimate the might of Barisan Nasional (BN).”
In Johor Baru, Chua seized the opportunity to accompany Jen (B) Md Hashim Hussein visit media offices after breakfast at 10am.
He then left for a hotel in Johor Baru for the launching of Johor PR’s manifesto.
The 15-point manifesto promises:
Ø Free 10 cubic metres of water to domestic users;
Ø To reduce assessment tax;
Ø To reduce property tax;
Ø Senior citizens’ Takaful scheme to give RM2,500 to help ease a family bereavement
Ø Anak Emas Johor Education Fund – RM100 for every child born and RM1,500 at aged 18;

Ø To create 40,000 job opportunities in two years;
Ø To implement a minimum monthly wage of RM1,100 for Johor civil servants.
Ø To launch the Ladang Sejahtera project to help eradicate poverty;
Ø To write off outstanding parking summonses by PBT;
Ø Program Gerbang Perkahwinan Anak Muda – RM1,000 for every pair of newly weds participating in mass weddings;
Ø Free Wifi at main housing estates;
Ø To set up a Tabung Anak Muda Sejahtera programme to help develop youth development in business;
Ø To implement a One Family, One House Policy; and

Chua delivering his address at the launch of the Johor PR manifesto.

In his address, Chua said Barisan Nasional (BN) was currently bankrupting Malaysia.
He said the PR manifesto was a hamba rakyat (people’s servant) not a servant of politicians.
“There will be no discrimination in extending aid to Malaysians,” he added.
After the launch at 5pm, Chua rushed back to Segamat for his Jelajah Pasar Malam.
