JOHOR BARU (Jan 6, 2013): Johor PKR
state committee leaders today attended a special pre-general election and
Chinese New Year briefing.
The
four-hour meeting was chaired by Johor PKR chairman Chua Jui Meng in the state party headquarters in Bandar Baru UDA, Tampoi.
The good attendance on a Sunday
morning can only mean high morale and fighting spirit amongst PKR leaders and
grassroots.
A
crowded but vital briefing for Johor PKR division leaders.
Chua gave the members some insight
into party supremo Anwar Ibrahim’s hopes, advice and strategy to be adopted in
the next 13th General Election (GE13) which must be held latest June
28.
The 222-seat Parliament is set for
automatic dissolution, thus paving the way for national polls, on April 28.
Chua also advised the leaders to be wary of the dirty tactics that could be expected to be adopted by
Barisan Nasional (BN) in pre and post GE13.
He said it was important to be wary
and to keep a lookout for external and internal saboteurs during campaigns in
the run-up to GE13.
“Expect the emergence of party
hoppers or what we call katak
(political frogs) and be prepared to face them. You can also expect BN to try
and buy support to sabotage our campaign operations,” he added.

and the electoral battle ahead.
Chua urged party leaders and
grassroots to go all out in the election campaign trail because “we have a
realistic chance of toppling BN in federal and state levels”.
“Johor should not be an Umno or BN
fixed deposit in general elections anymore. I just returned from Sabah with
Anwar and the people there have turned up in thousands to show their support.
“The crowds for PR is most
encouraging and they would respond in our ceramah with shouts that Ini Kali Pasti Tukar (There will surely
be change this time).
“The super corrupt BN is in for a
shock if they think Sabah and Sarawak are still its fixed deposit states in
national polls,” he added.
At the end of the meeting, the state
PKR leaders also eagerly bought new PKR uniform and wore them for a Chinese New
Year group greeting photo shoot.
Greeting scrolls were also specially
worded to wish Malaysians a very happy and prosperous new year through
reformation for justice, fair play and national unity.
