Bulk of Malaysia’s wealth with Umno elites

Bulk of Malaysia’s wealth with Umno elites

Chua …we can do much, much more for the rakyat than BN as a federal government.

BUKIT GAMBIR, SEGAMAT (Jan 5, 2013): The bulk of the country’s wealth have all been pilfered or hijacked to become the personal wealth of the Umno elites and their cronies.
“It is not in the hands of the majority rural, urban and middle class Malays. It is also not in the hands of the non-Malays.
“It all belongs to Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Najib Abdul Razak and their cronies like Syed Mokhtar, Ananda Krishnan, Vincent Tan, Jeffery Cheah and many other elites.
“In Malaysia, as long as you have the right connections with Umno leaders, you are a multi-millionaire or a multi-billionaire,” Johor PKR chairman Chua Jui Meng said at a PR Back To School bag presentation in the Bukit Gambir residence of PKR leader Hassan Salim today.

“In Johor, the only Malay qualified for Barisan Nasional (BN)-Umno mega projects is Syed Mokhtar. Why is that so,” Chua asked.
He said the land grabs in Johor, affecting mostly Malay ancestral land, were engineered by the unfeeling Mentri Besar Ghani Othman and his cronies.
“The lands are all ‘robbed’ from Malays under the Land Acquisition Act 1960, given to BN-Umno cronies to develop and sold to non-Johoreans and Singaporeans, like in Danga Bay and Nusajaya.
“Ghani is now going after the mostly Malay land in Pengerang with the excuse of the non-sustainable Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (Rapid).
“Rapid only needs about 6,000 acres. Why is Ghani and his cronies acquiring 22,500 acres?”

Chua said: “I have just returned from Sabah with Anwar Ibrahim. The reception from the Muslims and non-Muslims there is amazingly powerful.
“We could feel their strong mood for change and they would response with thunderous chants of Ini Kalilah Kita Ubah (This time we will change).
“We certainly hope that Johoreans rise to the same spirit when casting their ballots in the next general election,” he said.
“Where in the world can you find an oil-producing country needing loans to keep their country and administration afloat? Only Malaysia.
“Johoreans, please rise and give us your strong mandate to govern. Give us that one chance to prove that we can govern with integrity, look after the interest of the rakyat, not the greedy BN-Umno leaders and their cronies.”
“Pakatan Rakyat (PR) de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has promised to eradicate poverty within five years, if given the mandate to govern.
“The target is to raise the household income of Malaysians from RM1,500 and below per month to RM4,000. This can only be achieved with truly people-centric fiscal measures by a relatively corrupt-free administration.
“Look what the PR states of Penang and Selangor are doing. We can do much, much more for the rakyat than BN if we are the federal government,” he added.
