Malaysians expected to punish BN in GE13
for its corrupt ways

news crew interviewing Chua on his thoughts on Malaysia’s current political
scenario.
MASAI (Feb 12, 2013): Johor PKR
chairman Chua Jui Meng says Malaysians are today more wary of Barisan Nasional
(BN)’s corrupt ways and are expected to punish it at the coming 13th
General Election (GE13).
“Corruption
is so blatantly open for all to see and yet the enforcement authorities like
the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and police are doing nothing
about the millions and billions of ringgit being plundered by BN leaders.
“The
Information Communications Technology (ICT) has kept the people more informed
to make the right decision. I am confident of that,” he told a Berita Harian Singapore news crew today.
Chua,
who is also PKR vice-president, said land grab would be an issue close to
Johoreans and the majority of Malay land owners have had their land “seized” by
the BN government using the oppressive and cruel Land Acquisition Act since
1992.
He
said land grabs were rampant in Johor the past decade because of Singaporeans’
demand for high-end property.
Asked
about the chances of PR making it to Putrajaya and toppling Johor BN, Chua
said: “It’s certainly tough but we will fight the electoral battle all the way
until BN is out.”
Chua
was approached for an interview by the Berita
Harian news crew at the Johor Land Issue Forum: Problems And Solutions.
The
forum at the Li Garden Hotel ballroom was attended by about 800 Johoreans
including 100 Orang Asal Seleta today.
